Introducing our key staff

Nick Barfoot – Managing Director Nick Barfoot – Managing Director
After completing his studies at Cannington College in Somerset, Nick pursued a career in retail horticulture and as a tree surgeon before joining Blakedown in 1990 as a contracts manager. A year after he joined the company, Nick opened Blakedown’s Bristol office and has progressed through the company to become Managing Director.

Nick has worked on many high profile contracts over the years, including the award winning Swannery in Llanelli, a contract that restored derelict land to a thriving marshland.
Jonathan Griffin – Operations Director Jonathan Griffin – Operations Director
Jon moved to South Wales after graduating from Writtle College in 1988. Since becoming Operations Director he has prime responsibility for the south west region as well as being involved in company development nationwide.

Jon has a wealth of industry knowledge and experience, including an award winning Chelsea Show Garden in 1998.
Jonathan Salem – Director Jonathan Salem – Director
Jonathan has grown the Blakedown northern regional base steadily over the past eighteen months and, although still involved in hands on contracting, also manages the rest of the companies operations in the north of the country.

Jonathan enjoys the challenge of technically demanding contracts, and has produced some outstanding work such as that at Bromsgrove School.
